South Delhi Wins Inaugural 3×3 India Quest Title, Earns Mongolia Qualification Opportunity

New Delhi: Team South Delhi emerged as the inaugural champions of the 3×3 India Quest 2026 after defeating Team Bulandshahr in a closely contested final at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, on September 16.

The two-day FIBA-sanctioned tournament was supported by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and the Delhi Basketball Association (DBA), providing participating players with an opportunity to earn official FIBA ranking points and compete for a pathway to international competition.

South Delhi’s victory secured the team a place in the qualifying draw for the FIBA 3×3 World Series in Mongolia, giving the champions an opportunity to compete on an international stage.

The tournament showcased the fast-paced nature of 3×3 basketball, with matches played under a 12-second shot clock and a 10-minute game limit. The quarter-finals and semi-finals produced competitive encounters before South Delhi and Bulandshahr advanced to the title clash.

The tournament also marked an important opportunity for Indian players who have traditionally had fewer avenues to earn official FIBA ranking points through domestic competition.

Brian L. Marcar, Managing Director and Founder of Tero Entertainment, said the event marked the beginning of a broader initiative to expand 3×3 basketball in India. The organisers outlined plans for larger competitions and grassroots programmes, including a proposed 3×3 Academy at Delhi Public School R.K. Puram.

Chandrakant Singh, Managing Director and CEO of Tero India, highlighted the combination of domestic competition, ranking opportunities and international exposure as part of the initiative’s development strategy.

The event also featured entertainment and cultural performances, including a Hindi rendition of “Bounce” by Thai pop performer MellaMay.

With South Delhi advancing to the Mongolia qualifying draw, the inaugural India Quest has created a new competitive pathway connecting Indian 3×3 players with the international circuit.
